Welcome to the Ku-ring-gai Local Centres Local Environment Plan (LEP) consultation website

Conflicts over height and density in Ku-ring-gai have dominated local news for the last decade. Ku-ring-gai Council is currently developing the plans that will help shape the local centres for the future – the Ku-ring-gai Local Centres LEP.

We (Straight Talk), independent community engagement specialists, have been appointed by Ku-ring-gai Council to undertake the pre-exhibition consultation to support the development of a new Local Centres LEP.

This is your opportunity to speak up! We want your feedback on what would make the local centres of Ku-ring-gai (Gordon, Lindfield, Pymble, Roseville, St Ives and Turramurra) work better for you. What is your vision for your local centre?

This website is just one opportunity for you to participate. You can access consultation documentations and provide feedback morning, noon or night:

  • Read the FAQs section
  • Read important background information and access consultation materials in the Document Library
  • Participate in the Discussion Forum below
  • Read about opportunities to get involved below.

Straight Talk will be reporting back to Ku-ring-gai Council in March. Comments made on the forum below will be taken into consideration when we prepare our consultation outcomes report.

Community groups contact information

During the non-statutory consultation a number of stakeholders asked Straight Talk to provide them with contact details for workshop participants, as they may be interested in the activities or joining a group.

We understand that many stakeholder groups are keen to grow their membership and that consultation participants are perfect candidates for information about community groups.

The following community groups have provided their contact details. Please contact the groups directly should you be interested in receiving information in the future or joining.

Straight Talk managing consultation process

The consultation process, including this website, is being managed by Straight Talk, community consultation specialists. Straight Talk is one of the few consultancies that has consultation as its core business, and aims to deliver a consultation process that is clear and practical.

We have already met with several stakeholders to understand the complexities of the project and help us deliver a consultation process that is fair, open and effective. We will continue to work closely with stakeholders as the project progresses.
